Raiders Report | Boys Hockey Wins Thrilling Double OT Playoff Game, More Playoff Action This Weekend

WATERTOWN – The Raiders boys hockey team is advancing to the round of 16 in the MIAA division 3 state tournament. The 5th seeded Raiders defeated Southeastern RVT 3-2 in double-overtime on Wednesday night after tri-captain Jack Dickie netted the game-winner on an incredible pass from Aidan Campbell. Watertown will play Dracut on Saturday night at 6:30pm at John Ryan Arena in Watertown.

The Raiders boys basketball team did not have as much luck in their preliminary round game vs. Rockland on Wednesday night. Despite leading at halftime, head coach Steve Harrington’s squad struggled in the second half, letting Rockland build a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. A valiant comeback effort by Watertown fell short, losing 50-42.

The girls basketball team will play a round of 32 tournament game vs. Oakmont on Friday night at Watertown High School. The game will be the final contest played at Kelly Gymnasium.

Both playoff games will be broadcast LIVE on WCA-TV: wcatv.org/raiders

The Watertown High School cheerleading team will also be competing in the winter north regionals at Billerica High School on Sunday, March 5th. The squad is slated to take the stage some time after 11am.
