Flag & Lights Policy Created, Councilors Oppose Fourth Marijuana Dispensary

WATERTOWN – Watertown CIty Manager George Proakis announced during the February 14th City Council meeting that he has created an official flag & lighting policy for the city. The new policy gives the manager final say on what types of flags can fly on city-owned flag poles. The policy also gives him final approval the color themes for the lights in the Watertown Square delta. Mr. Proakis created the policy after the City of Boston had some issues with its own policy. He added that he is open to the city changing the policy, but he wanted to have something if effect now.

Mr. Proakis also noted that Watertown could, if it wished, enter into a host agreement with a fourth marijuana dispensary. City officials were not supportive of looking onto the possibility further.
