Addgene, located just steps from Arsenal Yards, is a life science repository that provides critical materials to scientists around the world—most notably, plasmids, small DNA molecules essential to countless research projects.

The organization was recently featured in a new short documentary produced by WCA-TV, which premiered at the Community STEM Night on April 29 at Watertown Middle School. Through staff interviews and behind-the-scenes lab tours, the video reveals how Addgene’s mission to “share science” is more than a tagline—it’s a global operation rooted in accessibility, precision, and a passion for discovery.
