Porchfest 2025 Fills Watertown with Music, Art, and Community Spirit
WATERTOWN – Watertown’s streets, parks, and porches were bursting with sound and celebration on Saturday, May 17 during the city’s second annual Porchfest. With over 150 performers spread across front yards, libraries, and open spaces, the event drew residents of all ages for a day of music, food, and creative connection.
The festivities kicked off with the unveiling of new public sculptures along the Community Path and Saltonstall Park.
Throughout the day, crowds gathered for performances by local groups including the Tokyo Tramps, the Watertown Free Public Library’s in-house band The Dewey Decibels, and the StrummerVille Ukulele Club. Community activities like karaoke, WFPL’s bookmobile, and a Spring Street block party—raising funds for the Watertown Food Pantry—added to the welcoming atmosphere.
Porchfest culminated in a pair of special “After Hours” events hosted by Watertown Cable Access TV (WCA-TV) and Ritcey East. At WCA-TV, live music from the MIT Video Game Orchestra accompanied a Mario Kart Grand Prix tournament.
