WCA-TV’s Youth Workshop is Back This Summer!

WCA-TV is excited to welcome back our Youth Film Workshop, a hands-on summer program designed for aspiring filmmakers, actors, and content creators!
This two-week workshop is completely free thanks to generous support from the Watertown Cultural Council, with additional support from the Mass Cultural Council.
Program Overview
Participants will learn the building blocks of video production while creating their own original projects. Whether it’s a short film, talk show, or variety program, students will gain real-world experience using professional equipment and techniques.
Each session focuses on a key area of production, including:
- Pre-production (planning and storytelling)
- Camera operation and shot composition
- Audio and microphone techniques
- Video editing
By the end of the program, students will have collaborated on a completed production to share with the community.
Schedule
- Dates: Weeks of July 20 and July 27, 2026
- Days: Monday – Wednesday
- Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Eligibility & Capacity
- Open to Watertown residents or students attending a school in Watertown
- Ages: 9–14
- Capacity: Limited to 15 students
Final Showcase
Friends and family are invited to a special red carpet premiere during the week of August 4, where student productions will be screened on the big screen. Light refreshments will be provided.
Registration
- Deadline: Thursday, July 17, 2026 (or until full)
- Spots are limited and expected to fill quickly
After registering, parents/guardians will receive a confirmation email along with a Talent Release Form required for participation.
