WCA-TV Launches Summer Youth Camp
Calling all aspiring directors, filmmakers, and actors!
We are so excited to launch a two week Youth Film Camp this summer! This camp is FREE of charge to all students thanks to a generous grant by the Watertown Cultural Council. The camp is open to Watertown residents between the ages of nine and seventeen. We have a maximum capacity of 15 students.
The camp will run Monday – Wednesday from 11am-1pm during the weeks of July 22nd and July 29th! During each two hour class, students will learn the building blocks of how to create their own film project. Students will learn the planning, technical, and editing skills to create a short film, talk show, variety show, or any other project of their choosing! Each class will focus on a particular theme that will build off one another which includes pre-production, camerawork, audio and microphones, and video editing.
Students, friends and family, can join us on Tuesday, August 6th at 6 pm for the world premiere of our students’ production! We’ll have light refreshments and the production played on the big screen. We can’t wait to give our students the red carpet treatment!
Please fill out the information below to sign up. Parents and guardians will be sent a Talent Release Form to sign allowing their student to be filmed and shown on our local channels and on-demand platform. Please email our Assistant Director, Sam, at [email protected] with any questions!
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Watertown Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
