Dozens of Musicians to Perform in Watertown to Raise Money for Music Programs in Schools
The following announcement was provided by Friends of Watertown Music
WATERTOWN – Friends of Watertown Music invites you to attend our 11th Annual MusicFest, on Friday, March 15. Doors open at 5:15 and musical performances run from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., at the Watertown Middle School.
MusicFest is a fun community event, offering something for everyone!
The event features over 50 performances, across 3 stages. The variety of music genres includes folk, jazz, opera, classical, acoustic and electric. Performances run from 5 to 20 minutes, so attendees will have the chance to go around and see as many acts as they wish.
This year, Bob Jones of the Blue Dogs is bringing his solo show to MusicFest. Yunona Tabala will perform opera and Char Baba presents an improvisational show. Former Director of the WPS Strings Program, Dr. Frederik Schuetze will perform an acoustic set, and local favorites Ruth Rappaport and Joe Pete Wetherbee continue their streak of MusicFest performances. Many popular Watertown Public School teachers will also show off their skills.
MusicFest will also feature an ‘instrument petting zoo’ to inspire budding musicians. Snacks and pizza will be available for sale throughout the evening.
The community is invited to attend all or part of the evening. Music starts promptly at 5:30.
All proceeds from this MusicFest fundraiser helps the Friends of Watertown Music support the music programs in the Watertown Public Schools. Suggested donations of $8/person or $25/family will be accepted at the door.
