WCA-TV relies on volunteers to help our organization in a variety of capacities. Interns provide WCA-TV with valuable work hours every week, and in exchange, our interns gain experience and training in all aspects of television production. Interns do not have to be affiliated with an academic program, but must commit to at least ten to fifteen hours/week. Want to earn college credits? We’re happy to work with your college or university to ensure you get credit for your work with us. We offer internships in Video Production and News Production. These internships are unpaid.
Video Production
Interns receive hands-on training in TV studio production, video field production, and digital editing. Interns assist in the production of studio shows, public service announcements, and event coverage for broadcast on WCA-TV channels and wcatv.org. Interns are encouraged to create their own projects for their demo reels.
Responsibilities:
News Production
Interns will learn the ins and outs of producing a full-length television newscast and be able to put together news segments for our weekly news program, Watertown Weekly News. Interns will have the opportunity to produce their own stories and be on-air.
