Raiders Football Looking to Defend Their First Ever North Section Title

Victory Field – As the dog days of summer pass and the fall season approaches, the hard-hitting football season is officially here. The 2017 Watertown Raiders eclipsed a major hurdle in the program’s history. The Raiders won the North Section for the first time ever. The third time’s a charm for Watertown as the previous two years saw the Raiders play in the North Final, but go home empty handed.

With a new season comes new goals and faces. The Raiders are poised for another deep playoff run but the first step is building team chemistry and comradery. The Raiders saw key contributors of both sides of the ball graduate. If the team wants to make it back to the North Section final they will have to rely on some underclassmen to attempt to fill the void.

Luckily for head coach John Cacace, he will have a strong senior class led by quarterback Nick McDermott and running back Mange Camara. The senior captains will need to lead the way on and off the field. Unfortunately Coach Cacace is already down one senior as Yoseph Hamad suffered a torn ACL in the offseason and will be out for the entirety of the season.
