Town Council Hears and Approves Victory Field Phase II Report

Town Hall – One of the major points of interest over the past year has been Victory Field and what will become of the track and field. At the August 14 Town Council meeting, chair of the Victory Field Phase II Ad Hoc Committee Vincent Piccirilli presented the committee’s final report to the council. The objective of Phase II is to improve the facility the best way possible to serve athletics and the public.

Later in the meeting, the council was presented with a report regarding government participation and methods of public outreach. This report examines options for increased public participation in government and making it easier for citizens to communicate with their town officials. In the short-term, the use of social media, broadcasting and encouragement to participate will be the best mediums to use. The Council’s long-term goals are to create a communication plan and eventually hire a communication and participation officer.
