Day of Activities Planned to Help Alzheimer’s Association, Residents Invited to Participate

WCA-TV Studio – June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Over the next few weeks, businesses, homes, lemonade stands, lampposts, and many other parts of Watertown will be decorated in the color purple. To further honor the occasion, some Watertown residents are planning a full day of activities centered around raising money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer’s Association funds research and provides necessary services to individuals and families living with the disease. The day-long event will take place on June 17 and is being called “The Longest Day,” which attributes its name both to its proximity to the longest day of the year (June 21) and that every day is the longest day for someone living with Alzheimer’s. To create more awareness about this important day and event, we invited two organizers of Watertown’s “The Longest Day” activities into the studio to talk about what’s being planned.
