Sports Report: Field Hockey Continues Dominance and the Boys Soccer Gets back to Its Winning Ways

WCA-TV Studio – Dan Hogan brings you the latest news in Watertown athletics. Field Hockey team looks as dominant as ever defeating Stoneham 6-0. Ally Kennedy was a dominant force in this game as she provided most of the scoring chances for the Raiders. Despite a slow start, the Raiders were able to blow the game open in the second half.

The most surprising development of the week was the football team losing to Cambridge Rindge & Latin. The combination of penalties, poor tackling and turnovers would plague the Raiders in their 21-19 loss. Despite all of their mishaps the Raiders were within a two point conversion of tying the game in the final moments. Star running Mange Camara played only two snaps, one being a recovered onside kick, due to a high ankle sprain.

Boys soccer defeated Stoneham in convincing fashion. Striker Alex Egan tallied a brace, with the second goal being a highlight reel top crossbar hit. The girls soccer team struggled mightily against a lethal Wakefield squad. The Raiders were outshot 22-2 on route to 6-1 defeat. Julianna Cacia recorded her first goal of the year by stealing the ball and then finishing her impressive run under the outstretched hands of the goalkeeper.
