Watertown Senior Center Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Hibernian Hall – On Friday, June 15, hundreds of people turned out to a celebration commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Watertown Senior Center. The official groundbreaking for the Senior Center happened on June 11, 1993. Prior to the center being constructed, local seniors and the council on aging would convene in a room at Town Hall. The various events and activities that the Council on Aging held would happen at different areas around town. Watertown having its own senior center allows all these activities and programs to be held at one location. Over the years, the senior center has sponsored activities and programs such as yoga classes, health screenings, book groups, topical discussions, and much more. The 25th anniversary celebration was held at Hibernian Hall to accommodate the hundreds of guests who attended. Members of the Senior Center were joined by town officials and other community members to celebrate.
