School Committee Passes Gun Control Resolution, Student Walkout Planned

Town Hall – At the Watertown School Committee’s first meeting since the tragic attack at Stoneman Douglas High School last month, school officials passed a resolution calling for better gun control and student mental health awareness. The resolution will be sent to Watertown’s elected officials.

Watertown students will be joining thousands of other students from across the country in a national walkout in protest of gun violence and the inaction of Congress to create better gun control legislation. Superintendent Dr. Dede Galdston made a statement saying the School Committee supports the students’ right to participate in the walkout.
