With Kindergarten Enrollment Down, New Elementary School Teachers to be Hired

Town Hall – Watertown’s School Committee members gathered at Town Hall for the regularly scheduled meeting on March 21. The two major issues on the agenda list were enrollment in kindergarten classes and adjusting the 2020 fiscal budget. Due to low kindergarten enrollment, Watertown will be hiring three elementary school teachers this year.

Superintendent Dr. Dede Galdston announced that a second Pre-K classroom will open at the Hosmer school. Starting in the fall, the second room will be added due to high enrollment numbers. Students on the waiting list will have equal priority for enrollment.
