School Committee Officials Praise Students After Scoring High on New State Tests

Town Hall- School Committee members were in high spirits during their meeting on Monday, October 1. The Massachusetts Accountability system results came in and Watertown students are doing very well. As of right now 73% of Watertown students are partially meeting targets. School Superintendent Dr. Dede Galdston set a goal of 75%, and to be to close to her goals is a very encouraging sight.

This new test was instituted in 2017. This offers different scoring measures and different ways to measure district performance. The committee is quite happy with the dedicated focus of the staff especially in some specific areas. The next goal focus of the Committee is to raise the performance of the lowest 25 percent performing students.
