Phillips School Renovations on Schedule, but with Some Concern

Watertown High School – In order to alleviate some of the overcrowding issues in Watertown’s elementary schools, it was decided earlier this year to move the integrated preschool classes from the Hosmer and Lowell Schools into the Phillips School building. The Phillips School is currently the School Administration building, but renovations are required if it is to be used for preschool classes.

At the July 18th School Committee meeting, Superintendent Dr. Jean Fitzgerald updated the public on the renovations to the school. Although it is on schedule, some councilors raised concerns about how the Watertown Family network’s playgroups would be affected.
