Watertown Winter Parking Ban is Back in Effect, Residents Once Again Protesting

Town Hall – As the unforgiving cold weather and snow is right around the corner, Watertown is putting steps in place to help keep streets safe and clear during the winter months. The annual winter parking ban took effect this past week, meaning that no vehicle can be parked on a public roadway in Watertown between 1am and 6am all days of the week. At the November 28 Traffic Commission meeting, some residents spoke out against the parking ban.

The ban is instituted to ensure snow plowers have clear roadways during the winter months for snow removal. Many citizens voiced their concern and frustration with the parking ban due to lack of off-street parking spaces.
