School Committee Outlines New Rules for Students Taking the Bus

Town Hall – The School Committee met on Monday, July 23 to discuss the new guidelines for Watertown students who will be taking the bus to school. The Policy Subcommittee’s main issues of concern was busing students who are attending Hosmer, the Middle School, and Minuteman Vocational Technical High School.

Students between the grades of Kindergarten to fifth grade that live 1.5 miles away or more are eligible for free transportation. The same circumstance applies for middle school students who live two miles away.

The current buses are at 90-percent capacity. The remaining seats will be left for students eligible for free transportation who move into the district.
