The “Read to Ride” program encourages kids to read as many books as they can during the summer. With each book they read, they get entered into a drawing to win a new bicycle.

“I love interacting with the kids. I love hearing what they’re reading,” said Dependable Cleaners President Christa Hagearty. “I just like to see anything that makes reading cool and fun.”

Hagearty and local children’s book author Jennifer Rogala visited the Watertown Boys & Girls Club this week to kick off the program in Watertown. Rogala has written a number of successful children’s books. She talked to members of the Boys & Girls Club about being an author and her writing process. She read a few books to the kids at the Boys & Girls Club.
