Senior Center – On August 24th, the Watertown Senior Center hosted a lecture about how to keep seniors safe from a variety of scams. The panel of speakers included fraud investigators from Eastern Bank, a protective services representative from Springwell, Watertown Police Chief Mike Lawn and Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. Chief Lawn discussed the scams that have victimized senior citizens here in Watertown – most commonly IRS scams. Lawn added that seniors should be careful what they put on social media regarding vacations. If they are nervous about leaving their home when on vacation, they can call the police station and request a patrol to drive by periodically.
