Opioid Addiction Forum Discusses Substance Abuse

St. James Church – September is Recovery Month which is organized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to raise awareness and educate the public about mental and substance use disorders. Throughout the next few weeks and months, there will be events to educate the public and remember those suffering from substance use throughout Watertown.

On Wednesday, the Watertown Task Force for Substance Abuse held a forum to discuss prevention of and recovery from opioid use in an effort to combat the rise in opioid-related deaths during the past two years. Topics discussed included everything from the science behind addiction, to how to recognize the signs of and prevent it.

The full video of this forum will be available on WCA-TV’s public channel and website soon.
